Karnali Province Planning Commission without officers

The Commission is without a vice-chairman and 2 members. The functioning of the Commission has been affected after the absence of officers.

Bhimnarayan Kharal, information officer of the Commission, said that the policy-making work of the officials has stopped due to the absence of officials. According to him, now only the administrative work done by the employees of the commission has been done. All the work done by the officials is stopped.

After the Provincial Planning Commission became without an official, the work of preparing the second five-year plan has also become confused. The period of implementation of the first five-year plan announced by the Karnali state government is ending with the current financial year. The government brought a five-year plan to be implemented from 2076/077 to 2080/081. By the time the period of the said plan was about to expire, the process of drafting the second five-year plan could not proceed. The work of drafting the first phase of the five-year plan has been done. Other work has not progressed. The five-year plan was ready to be completed by April.

Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel claimed that some works were affected due to the absence of Planning Commission officials, but the works were not completely stopped. He said that the planning commission will be completed soon.
