Chairman of Maoist Center and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has sent former Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi to Surkhet to settle the dispute in Karnali.
On Tuesday, he asked Rajkumar Sharma, who was the chief minister of his own party, to resign and made Yamlal Kandel, the leader of the UML parliamentary party, the chief minister. He came to Surkhet in the morning.
Shahi, who reached the Chief Minister's residence after Surkhet fell, is discussing the matter of getting Sharma to resign. However, Sharma has been reiterating his stance that he will not back down as he has filed a motion in Parliament for the purpose of taking a vote of confidence according to the parliamentary procedure.
