Police have arrested a 30-year-old youth on the charge of marrying an 11-year-old girl.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Pratitsinh Rather said that 30-year-old Ammar Bahadur Rana of Panini Rural Municipality-4 Patauti village was arrested on May 31 for marrying a minor. The girl he married is 11 years 7 months 5 days old.
Rana was arrested by the police at noon on June 13, Ratheer said. Rana is being investigated by the court with an extension of 5 days.
Rana, who studied till 10th standard, cheated and married a girl studying in 7th standard. After marrying off his daughter, Maiti filed a police complaint saying she was a minor.
