With only two months left for the end of the financial year, the Lumbini state government's expenditure for the current financial year is only 34 percent. The state government spent only 34 percent of the budget in 9 months. According to Deepak Gyawali, head of Provincial Accounts Controller's Office Dang, only 34.30 percent of the budget has been spent so far.
He said that the government had brought a budget of 40 billion 479 million rupees for the current financial year. In which 32.98 percent of the capital budget and 36.9 percent of the current budget were spent, he said. Gyawali said that the government has greatly reduced the capital expenditure as expected. Until the end of the current financial year, the development budget is less spent, and the implementation of the budget has been disappointing.
There are 10 ministries in Lumbini including the office of the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers. In all, the government has not been able to spend the budget of the development plan. Lumbini Provincial Government Spokesperson Dipendra Pun Magar said that the budget could not be spent due to various problems and the newly formed government has moved forward to complete the plan work quickly.
How much does the ministry spend?
Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers : has been the least spent on the capital side. In the budget of 6 crore 2 lakh rupees, 18 lakh 45 thousand 317 rupees have been spent.
Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development : 4 billion 305 million 15 thousand 320 DD or 32.33 percent has been spent till the end of April. In terms of capital, the budget is 13 billion 316 million 20 thousand rupees.
Ministry of Water, Rural and Urban Development : 5 billion 700 million 96 million 60 thousand on the capital side, 2 Billion 6 million 15 lakh 36 thousand 547 rupees or 36.11 percent has been spent.
Ministry of Health : 71 million 15 million 66 thousand 445 rupees or 46.64 percent has been spent out of a capital budget of 1 billion 52 million 56 million 90 thousand rupees.
Ministry of Industry Tourism and Transport Management : 60 million 17 lakh 50 thousand rupees have been spent in the capital budget of 6 million 19 lakh 95 thousand 453 rupees i.e. 12.36 percent.
Ministry of Forests and Environment : 21 crore 6 lakh 54 thousand 757 rupees i.e. 23.82 percent have been spent in the capital budget of 884 million 442 lakh 47 thousand rupees.
Ministry of Social Development : On the capital side, 11 crore 68 lakh 85 thousand 237 rupees i.e. 29.28 percent has been spent in the budget of 39 crore 92 lakh 10 thousand.
Ministry of Finance : On the capital side, 10.43 percent of the 10 million budget has been spent.
Ministry of Agriculture and Land Management : On the capital side, 18 crore 77 lakh 95 thousand rupees have been spent in the budget of 2 crore 64 lakh 77 thousand 68 rupees, i.e. 14.10 percent.
Ministry of Home Affairs : On the capital side, 15 crore 21 lakh 22 thousand 826 i.e. 47.76 percent has been spent in the budget of 31 crore 85 lakh rupees.
Lumbini Pradeshiya Sabha : On the capital side, 1 crore 56 lakh 19 thousand 740 rupees, i.e. 21.62 percent, have been spent out of a budget of 7 crore 22 lakh 50 thousand rupees.
