A fire broke out at Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital in Khajura, Banke. Dr. Prakash Sah, chief of the hospital, said that there was a fire in the city scan room in the hospital.

According to him, the fire was brought under control after three hours of efforts. The fire started from the AC of the city scan room at around 4:30 pm on Sunday and spread to the entire room of the radiology department by the time it was brought under control.

The city scan room was damaged by the fire and the machines and technical equipment were taken out by the hospital staff, police and locals.

The fire was brought under control by the efforts of local residents, Nepal Police and hospital staff with the help of Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan fire department, said Dr. Sah. He said that the details of the damage caused by the fire will be known only after the technical assessment.
