Statistics show that disaster incidents are increasing in Kavrepalanchok district since last few years. According to the District Police Office, looking at the data of financial years 2078/79, 2079/80 and the current 2080/81 up to Chaitra 26, it is seen that the number of disaster incidents is increasing every year.
In the financial year 2078/79, 11 people have died and 14 people have been injured in various incidents. According to the Information Officer of the District Police Office, Superintendent Raj Kumar Shrestha, 15 people died and 22 people were injured in the financial year 2079/80.
Similarly, 5 people have died and 14 people have been injured in Kavre till the 26th of Chaitra 2080/81. Discussions have been held between various stakeholders in the district to minimize the increasing number of disasters in the district.
In the discussion, District Disaster Management Committee Coordinator Chief District Officer Rudra Devi Sharma informed that there was a discussion and coordination about the need for disaster management committees, funds and rescue and relief materials to be prepared by all local levels.
