Finance Minister Varshman Pun has said that the province will be declared a specialized economic center in collaboration with the private sector.
Presenting the budget for the next fiscal year (2081/82), Finance Minister Pun said that according to the specific economic centers, Koshi will be made into an industry, Madhesh will be made into an agricultural center, and Wagmati will be made into an information and technology center. Similarly, he said that Gandaki will be made into tourism, Lumbini into small and medium industries, Karnali into herbs and Sudurpaschim into an economic hub of religious tourism.
