On this day (July 1) in 1961, Diana, the former Princess of Wales, was born. Born on July 1, 1961, Diana married Britain's Prince Charles III (now King) on July 29, 1981.

They had Prince William in 1982 and Prince Harry in 1984. The couple announced their separation in 1992. Four years later, on August 28, 1996, Charles and Diana were formally divorced. Charles married Camilla Parker in 2005.

A year after the divorce, Diana died in a car accident on August 31, 1997. Diana attended a dinner held in Paris, the capital of France. There she met Dodi Al Fayed, the son of the wealthy Egyptian businessman Mohamed Al Fayed.
