Police have arrested a man with illegal weapon (pistol) in Salyan. The police arrested the driver Deepak Bahadur aged 45 from Kalimati rural municipality 1 Lakshmipur of the district.
On the basis of secret information that the operator was hiding weapons illegally, the team of Ela Police Office Luham and District Police Office searched and recovered a rusted pistol wrapped in plastic in a hole in the Pokhara Community Forest, some distance from the house, and he was immediately arrested. Police Spokesperson Police Inspector Bhawani Prasad Dhamala said. He informed that the company name and model number of the rusted pistol were not disclosed. According to him, the pistol seems to have been hidden during the war.
He said that the arrested driver was kept in the custody cell of the District Police Office Salyan by the District Court Salyan for seven days and the incident is being further investigated.
