Madhesh Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav has said that he will take the vote of confidence on May 23. Speaking to reporters in Janakpur on Monday, Chief Minister Yadav informed that the budget session will begin on the 21st and he will take the vote of confidence on the 23rd.

Likewise, Chief Minister Yadav has said that the Madhesh government has not taken any illegal steps. According to the law, the government will distribute conditional grants to the local level and funds will be transferred from various ministries, he said. On Monday, Chief Minister Yadav was informed by UML, Janmat Party, Maoist Center and LOSPA Nepal that the minority government should not take decisions that will have long-term effects.

Chief Minister Yadav said that since the municipalities are asking for conditional grants, the money will be sent according to the law. 'Conditionally, all the municipal heads are asking. We are working according to the duty of the provincial government, he said. Similarly, he claims that he is not the chief minister of the minority even now. He said, 'It cannot be called a minority government now. After not getting the vote of confidence, if it was for the next chief minister, I would have been the chief minister of the minority.' Chief Minister Yadav did not reveal which party he would support, even though he claimed that he would get a vote of confidence.

There are 10 parties participating in the 107-member Madhesh state assembly. The support of 54 parliamentarians of the state assembly is required to form the government. In the Provincial Assembly, there are 25 MPs from UML, 22 from Congress, 19 from JSP Nepal, 13 from Janmat Party, 9 from CPN Maoist Center, 9 from Democratic Socialist Party, 7 from CPN S and 1 each from RPP, Nepal Federal Socialist and Civil Liberation Party.

The largest party in the state assembly, CPN UML and the second largest party, Nepali Congress, have been the charioteers of the third party JSP Nepal led government for one and a half years. Recently, due to the division of Jaspa Nepal, the current government in Madhesh has fallen into a minority. But it is not decided who will lead the new government. When the small parties in the 'decisive' position in the formation of the government started claiming the Chief Minister position, the big parties were in trouble.
