The campaign to remove street vendors in the capital city of Kathmandu, which is chaotic with narrow roads and more vehicles, should be considered appropriate for the city management. However, the use of force on the street vendors and their resulting injuries is tragic.

There is no point in agitating that the Metropolitan Corporation should take over the responsibility of twenty thousand sidewalk traders from all over the country. The state government and the state parliamentarians do not seem to have given a responsible statement on this matter so far.

After the country has gone to federalism, the provinces must also take the responsibility of creating employment opportunities for the human resources of their respective provinces.
