The conclusion of the Congress that the government is oriented towards authoritarianism, protest in Kathmandu

Meen Bishwakarma, Head of the Information Communication and Publicity Department, informed that the joint meeting of the Central Working Committee and the Parliamentary Party held on Wednesday concluded that the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Lamichhane, who was accused of misappropriating the co-operative's funds, stopped the investigation being conducted on him after becoming the Home Minister and played a role in destroying evidence.

'Congress has already made this demand in the Parliament . But the government has ignored it and the speaker has not played a neutral role,' Vishwakarma told Kantipur, 'the government has moved towards authoritarianism. Currently, maintaining the constitution, democracy, human rights, freedom of the press, peace and security of the people and good governance is in a challenging situation. On top of that, we have come to the conclusion that the Congress will demonstrate on the streets against the action taken by the controversial Home Minister by retaliating against the independent press and will destroy such actions of the government at the local level.'

In the Congress meeting, the leaders are still giving opinions. Propaganda department head Bishwakarma informed that initially the Congress will hold a road demonstration in Kathmandu and then gradually proceed with other movement programs.

According to the leaders, a protest has been proposed in Kathmandu next Friday and preparations are being made to send representatives to all 15 constituencies of Kathmandu.
