Folk singer Kumar Basnet is going to be honored with Long Sadhana Samman (Lifetime Achievement). On the occasion of the 16th anniversary of the Anti-Darbar Club, singer Basnet will be honored by organizing a program on May 32.

Club president Ashok Giri said that 81-year-old Basnet, who has sung famous folk songs like 'Chhori Thanh Ama Taruni', 'Labari Lai', and 'Dalli Magrani Ho', will be honored as she has been presenting the distortions, inconsistencies and bad customs of the society through folk songs.

Basnet and other folk singers Badri Pangeni, Sunita Dulal and Krishna Anshu will also be given special honours.

Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Hit Bahadur Tamang is the chief guest and Film Development Board Chairman Bhuvan KC is said to be participating in the honor program as a special guest. President Giri says that the club will honor the folk song singer/singer as the first performance of the folk song artist will take place on Dohori evening itself.

'Dohori Sanjh is the first opening of the career of a folk-dhori artist, the first school of folk-dhori music and also a place to practice. We have decided to celebrate our anniversary as a celebration of folk music. On that occasion, we have decided to honor those who have contributed to the field of folk songs through music and journalism,' said Giri, the president of the Anti-Darbar Club.
