Mahaprasad Adhikari, the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, has demanded the dismissal of the writ filed in the Supreme Court regarding his qualifications. Advocates Deepakraj Joshi, Pratapsingh Thakurathi, Damodar Timsina and Chudamani Bhandari filed a writ on December 12, raising questions about the officer's qualifications. In the writ, the Council of Ministers, the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers were made opponents.

The Governor showed proof of equivalence of qualifications

Section 20 of the Rashtra Bank Act 2058 stipulates that the minimum educational qualification of the governor is post graduation. However, the appointment was requested to be canceled as the qualification of the governor officer was not according to the law and he was not qualified for the said post. It is claimed in the writ that the qualification of the Governor's officer is only Chartered Accountant and not Master's degree or so.

Responding to the same writ, the Governor's officer has submitted a reply to the court on January 26. He was in various high-level managerial responsibilities of Rashtra Bank, having the same qualifications as the bank governor, and was appointed as the deputy governor of the same bank and was in charge of the director from January 13, 2067 to January 12, 2012. He said that he graduated from Tribhuvan University in 1988 in Commercial Administration and passed Chartered Accountant from India in 1993.

The officer also claims that the writ petition is being dismissed as it has reached its eligibility. "According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Nepal dated 076 Chait 24, when the petitioners were appointed to the vacant post of governor of the bank, although the petitioners themselves were qualified, I was appointed to the post of governor, as it is related to the issue that I was appointed to the post of governor, first of all, it is necessary to have a review by the honorable court regarding the law and the completed process related to the appointment," said the reply. .

The hearing of the petition related to the educational qualification of the governor's officer is scheduled for February 21. Earlier, Pesi was scheduled for full hearing on January 14, but was put on the adjourned list.
