Direklal Shrestha, General Secretary of Media Alliance Nepal, has said that the arrest of the media house by the police will not be tolerated. In a press conference held at the central office of Kantipur Publications on Wednesday, he made it clear that there is zero tolerance for attacks on media houses.
Home Minister Lamichhane said on Tuesday that arresting Kailash Sirohia, president of Publications, in the office was like 'spitting on the plate he ate'. He said, 'Ravi ji was also a media worker first. But now the media itself has been attacked. I request the media not to do this .'
The Home Minister said that earlier he was twelve brothers, now from yesterday not only twelve brothers but all brothers have come together . He said, 'Just yelling always doesn't work . You cried even when you were in the media, you are crying even when you go upstairs.'
He said that attacking media workers is not acceptable. He said that he has a family relationship with the Home Minister and asked Home Minister Lamichhane to be restrained. He said, 'I request you to be like the home minister of the country. I ask you not to act like he is doing things right.'
