Ashish Phuyal of Dolakha has won the title of Nepal Eco Panel Gopal Khagi Smriti Blitz Rating Intelligence Competition organized by Nepal Eco Panel.

In the ninth round match, Ashish won the title with 7 and a half points by playing 7 wins and 1 draw.

The young player was defeated by Purushottam Silwal of Kathmandu in the final stage of the one-day tournament. He received 6,000 in cash.

Former Nepal champion Badrilal Nepali, who is in the second place, has the same score of 5 and a half points, but in the tie-break, he was behind Badrilal. Badri got 4,000 prize, while Dhiren Rai of Bhojpur, who stood third, got 3,000.

Purushottam was fourth while Kavre's Shailendra Kumar Poudel was fifth. Suraj Maharjan of Lalitpur, Niken Kustha of Bhaktapur, Rajesh Kashpati, Lama of Makwanpur and Rajkumar Lama of Lalitpur are ranked fifth to tenth respectively.

Ganeshman Duwal was the best in the veteran category and Vinayak Pokharel was the best in the unrated category.

The winning player was awarded by engineer sponsor Krishnabhakta Duwal, president of Nepal Buddhichal Federation, Herakazi Maharjan, member Niranjan Prajapati and others at the conclusion chaired by coordinator Ganeshman Duwal.

International Arbiter Gyanendra Khaiju conducted the competition in which 80 players from 26 districts participated.
