Kathmandu won the title of the third national kung fu competition on Sunday. Kathmandu won 12 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze and became the overall team champion.

Lalitpur came second with 10 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze in the competition organized by Nepal Kung Fu Association and co-organized by Martial Arts Organization Nepal. Third place Dhading won 4 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals. Vinod Maharjan, Proprietor of Better Collection Kirtipur awarded prizes of Rs 15,000, 10,000 and 5,000 respectively to the top three winners.

Sushil Tamang in men and Manisha Vick in women were declared the best players in Sanda of the competition held at Kirtipur Covered Hall. Rajin Chame in men and Yanki Gurung in women were selected as the best players in Thaulo's men.

In the two-day competition, 180 athletes from 16 different districts competed in 44 competitions in senior and junior categories, according to Rajiv Maharjan, president of the co-organizer Martial Arts Organization Nepal.
