The 28-member preliminary Nepali women's cricket team has been announced for the ACC Women's Asia Cup under the captaincy of Indu Burma. The Women's Asia Cup will be held in Sri Lanka from the first week of July. Group 'A' has India, Pakistan and UAE along with Nepal. Group B has Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand and Malaysia.
The Nepali team was selected for the Asia Cup by remaining in the top four of the Premier Cup.
In the starting team, Indu Verma (captain), Rubina Chhetri, Sita Ranamargar, Kavita Kunwar, Jakjan Khadka, Kavita Joshi, Kajol Shrestha (wicketkeeper), Pooja Mahato, Dolly Bhatt, Vindu Rawal, Roma Thapa, Mamta Chaudhary, Rajmeet Airi, Kritika Marasini, Savanam Rai, Ruby Podar (wicketkeeper), Khushi Dangol, Lakshmi Saud, Elisa Khadia, Apsari Begum, Karuna Bhandari, Asmina Karmacharya, Sangeeta Rai, Aarti Mahato, Savitri Dhami, Yashoda Bishta, Soni Pakhrin and Helisa Gurung.
