Koshi state level badminton tournament has started in Phidim. Ramraj Angdembe, head of district coordination committee Panchthar, inaugurated the competition on Wednesday. Some matches of men's singles were completed on Wednesday as part of the competition to be conducted in five different categories.

In the men's singles match held on Wednesday, Bishal Tamang of Bhojpur, Andresh Limbu of Taplejung, Sangam Giri of Sunsari, Diwas Shankar of Panchthar, Binay Chaudhary of Udarpur, Nabin Silwal of Terhthum, Anuj Tamang of Sankhuwasabha, Bibek Shrestha of Bhojpur, Yunshal Rai of Bhojpur, Sagun Karki of Solukhumbu, Yodesh Rai of Khotang. , Bikek Kandangwa of Tehrathum, Sanyog Basnet of Solukhumbu, Sujal Chaudhary of Udaipur and Milan Gurung of Taplejung have entered the second stage.

Women's singles and men's singles have started on Wednesday. Koshi Province Sports Development Board and Fidim Municipality have provided financial support in the competition which started under the organization of District Sports Development Committee. The games of the

competition are being conducted at the Covered Hall of the District Coordination Committee. Men's double, men's single, women's double, women's single and mixed doubles will be held in the tournament, Santosh Moktan, chairman of the District Sports Development Committee informed. 68 players from 14 districts of Koshi province are participating in the competition.

The winners of each category of the provincial level badminton competition will receive cash prizes of 20,000, 10,000 and 5,000 along with trophies and medals. Similarly, the organizer said that there will be two types of games for open veterans.

The winner of the open veterans competition will receive 30,000 and the runner-up will receive 15,000. The chairman of the organizing district sports development committee, Santosh Moktan, informed that the selection of players for the inter-province level competition to be held in Hetouda from the 24th of Falgun. Technical assistance in the

competition has been provided by District Badminton Association.
