New Horizon 'B' and Nepathya College started victoriously in the second district level inter-college SAI Global Cup T-20 cricket tournament at Bhairahawa in Rupandehi on Tuesday.

New Horizons and Nephethya won

Organized by Rupandehi Cricket Association and sponsored by SAI Global Academy, the purpose of the tournament is to support the production of players from the grassroots level. New Horizon defeated Moonlight Boarding by 23 runs at Siddharth Cricket Stadium in Bhairawa.

Horizon won the toss and scored 140 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Prakash Giri top scored with 46, Arif Khan and Ranjit Maurya scored 23 each and Siddharth Dhakal scored 17 runs. Moonlight's Zainuddin Ansari took 4 wickets. Bhanubhakt Pandye took 2 wickets, Anish Yadav and Suraj Khadka took 1 wicket each.

Moonlight lost 7 wickets and scored only 117 runs. Apart from Anish Yadav scoring 28 runs, Suraj Khadka scoring 26 unbeaten, Shivkant Yadav scoring 13 runs, other batsmen could not touch double figures. Horizon's Shubham Pandye took 3 wickets, Arif Khan, Prakash Giri, Bhojraj Sapkota and Siddharth Dhakal took 1 wicket each. New Horizon's Prakash Giri was Man of the Match.

In the next match, Nepathya defeated CCT College by 47 runs. Nepathya lost the toss and scored 136 runs after losing 6 wickets in the scheduled over. Krishna Karki scored 43, Amrit Bakbal scored 33 and Vimarsh Thapa added 11 runs. CCT's Amit Tiwari and Abhishek Pandey took 2 wickets each. In the

reply, CCT were bundled out for 89 runs in 17.4 overs. Aman Bohra played a half-century innings of 51 runs but it was not enough for the victory. Nepathya's Krishna Bhusal took 4 wickets to stop CCT cheaply. Tilak Bhusal took 3 wickets, Swastik Pandey 2 and Krishna Karki 1 wicket. Nepathya's Krishna Bhusal became the man of the match. 26 teams from the

district will win a trophy with 50,000 rupees and 25,000 rupees for the runner-up.
