'Karnali Literature Festival' is being held in Birendranagar on Tuesday. A one-day literature festival organized by Future Nepal and Karnali Readers Society has organized a debate on reading culture, a book exhibition and a writing competition.
Karnali Literature Festival is going to be held for the first time in Karnali in coordination and collaboration with Surkhet Valley City Development Committee, Birendranagar Municipality and schools located in Surkhet.
Festival is scheduled to be inaugurated by Karnali state chief Tilak Pariyar. Navraj KC, coordinator of the literature festival, said that it will help in the development of Karnali language, literature and culture.
'Books written about Karnali in various genres will be searched, collected and exhibited, the relationship with the authors and readers will be expanded,' he said, 'The aim is to develop the culture of reading by inspiring the practice of writing, publishing and reading in Karnali.' Writer Madhav Choulagai, who is also the organizer of the break festival, informed that local, national and international famous writers have been invited to the literature festival. The festival In addition to the development of reading and writing culture, it is said that Karnali Provincial Government and the local level will help in the construction of educational plans.
Writer Devaki Timilsena said that the Karnali Literature Festival held in Khas Bhumi Karnali will continue on Baisakh 11 every year on the occasion of World Book Day.
