On behalf of the family, Ishwar's sister Rupa Lamichhane and local youths reached the Singha Darbar along with the public representatives. Minister Saud said that he is serious about the safe release of the Nepali hostages in Ukraine and necessary diplomatic initiatives are being taken with Ukraine.

Lamichhane arrived in Russia on July 10 on a 'visit visa'. After that, Lamichhane, who joined the Russian army, was not in contact with his family for five months. Lamichhane, who had been communicating with the family until October 22, has been out of touch since then.

In a television interview on February 12, after learning that Lamichhane is under the control of the Ukrainian army, the family members have been taking initiatives to return to Nepal. The family members had also met Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal a few days ago and requested him to help them return to Nepal.
