Eco-friendly bags have been distributed in Banepa Municipality 7 of Kavre to manage garbage. On Wednesday, the ward office conducted an interaction program on waste management in the ward and distributed environment-friendly bags.

Ward member Soni Bajracharya informed that environmentally friendly cloth bags were distributed to 700 people of the ward in order to minimize the use of plastic. According to him, in order to manage the garbage, the women of the ward have also been given training in making eco-friendly cloth bags. Ward member Rameshwari Manandhar said that on the one hand it has raised a source of income and on the other hand it has helped in waste management.

The women of the ward have been given training in making waste plastic flowers and decorative materials for waste management. She said that it has made women independent as well as assisted in waste management.

Nagar Ward No. 7, market and commercial area, garbage management has become a very challenging issue. Ward president Hitler Shakya said that keeping this issue in mind, the ward has been conducting various programs as a campaign and discussion for the ward residents on garbage management. According to him, continuing this program, this time an interaction program has been conducted with the aim of giving information about waste management to the residents of the ward.

Kathmandu University Associate Professor Nirmal Babu Aryal and trainer Sanjiv Ghimire gave training to the citizens of the ward on how to manage the waste at home and also to inform them about the biodegradable/non-biodegradable waste. Associate Professor Aryal said that if we can minimize the use of plastic, it will be easier to manage waste. According to him, its usefulness has also been taught.
