After 21 years, the train returned to Mahottari without any passengers and returned empty from Bhangaha's Vijalpura station. The Nepal Railway Company has informed that there are no passengers on the train that started running from last June to Jayanagar-Janakpur-Bhangaha and the train with the capacity of carrying 1350 passengers is running empty. "Why is there no enthusiasm among the people? We are also surprised," said Niranjan Jha, general manager of the railway company. "Now the train is coming and going."

The train returns empty from Bhangaha

He said that there are hardly 10 passengers a day to and from Bhangaha. Jha said that the final preparations are being made to advance the work towards Bardiwas as it is seen that the train should be taken to Bardiwas as soon as possible to increase passengers. Millions of money is being spent monthly to operate the train along with the salary facilities of the railway staff, technicians and drivers, but due to the lack of passengers, the fuel cost for train operation is also being spent. The railway company said that it could not get up. If the

train is to be kept in Janakpur, because of the theft of materials worth lakhs on the railway, there is a compulsion to run it even if it is at a loss in the area that has already been inaugurated for the safety of the railway. Jha informed that although more than 10,000 train fuel will be spent daily, 4,000 rupees will be raised for income (ticket fare).

According to the Nepal-India agreement, the operation started from 1984 to Vijalpura station to take Nepal's wood and herbs to India and bring consumables to Nepal. Ja informed that the train, which is currently only carrying passengers, is preparing to operate freighters up to Dhanusha's Kurta within a month.

Even though the 52 km train is in operation from Jayanagar-Vijalpura station, the locals say that they are not getting any facilities from the train service. According to Nepal Railways, the train that leaves Bhangaha at 7 in the morning returns to Bhangaha only at 7 in the evening after traveling to Jayanagar Janakpur twice. Locals have been saying that train travel will be convenient only if the train comes frequently.

Devati Sah of Bhangaha-5 said that since people who take the train in the morning with an empty stomach will return only at 7 pm, it is faster and easier to go to Janakpur by other vehicles than the train. But the residents of Bhangaha say that trains should be operated at least twice a day.

The businessmen of Bardiwas say that the railway can be considered development only after the completion of the work at Bhangaha's Vijalpura station due to the compensation dispute for 9 years and the trade between India and Nepal is connected. Bishnu Khadka, President of Bardiwas Industry and Commerce Association, said that the present situation will not remain as there are no passengers between Janakpur and Jayanagar after the train started running from Bardiwas.

Khadka said that because passengers will be connected on the basis of the services provided by the train, if it can provide passenger services with cargo and also connect the production, market and trade business of both countries, the railway can change the standard of living of the common people . He expressed the belief that the expansion of railway services will gradually improve the relationship between Nepal and India at the people's level.

Indian railway company Ircon International is working on the construction of railway tracks in Nepal with the investment of 1254 crores by the Government of India.
