In a conversation published on Monday in Kantipur, the Chief Executive Officer of NIC Asia Bank, Roshan Kumar Neupane, claimed that the bank has not applied to Rashtra Bank to close any branch.
However, Rashtra Bank's Joint Information Officer Bhagwat Acharya has publicly accepted the request to close the branch from NIC Asia. This raises serious questions about the integrity of the newcomer.
The banking system is a sensitive sector, in which the livelihoods of millions are tied. Such a statement by a top executive of a bank only creates more mistrust between savers and bankers.
