Skill training for all applicants in Kathmandu

Since last May 19th, the skills fair organized by Kathmandu Metropolitan City received more applications than required, training will be provided in collaboration with schools and campuses.

Skill training for all applicants in Kathmandu

With the launch of 2081, KAMPA aimed to provide 'self-employment', 'employment' and 'on-the-job training' to 2,811 people through skill training. KAMPA has stated that it plans to provide training in collaboration with educational institutions after receiving more than the specified number of applications.

KAMPA Acting Head of Social Development Department Vimala Koirala said, 'More than 60,000 people have applied. We provide training according to KAMPA by choosing from those who have applied or to citizens who have completed their documents.' According to him, the metropolis has already made an agreement with the campus and school based on the need. Koirala informed that 2 thousand 81 people from those who filled the form will be trained immediately and others will be trained within the next three years based on their needs. Under KAMPA's Gaurav Yojana, skill fair has been started under 'Increase in Employment and Income, Prosperity of Kathmandu'. For the fair, the metropolis has cooperated with the Nepal Training and Employment Association. Acting head of the department, Koirala said that the aim is to provide training in 36 professions in 10 areas through the

fair. According to him, the fair will integrate skills that are scattered, and help people with skills reach employers.

According to Koirala, the first phase of the 15-day training under the 'Seep Mela' which started on 19th Baisakh has been completed. Now those classes are being conducted in the second phase. "In the first phase, there was a training quota for 1,577 people", he said, "of this, 1,505 people have participated in the training." The classes of the second phase of 15 days have started from the 6th of June.

According to Koirala, skills related to 30 professions in 10 areas have been included in the training. Auto Electric, Electric Car (EV), Carpentry, Tile and Marble Fitting, Electrician, Plumbing, Refrigeration and AC Technician and Art and Sculpture are for 30 days.

Nepal Training and Employment Professionals Federation, Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Nepal Federation of Commerce and Industry and various private sectors have stated that they will provide employment to the manpower produced from the skill fair based on the nature of the work.
