Saturday In a special program organized on the occasion of the 12th year of the Bagmati Clean-up Campaign, Leelamani Paudyal, former chief secretary of the campaign, informed that six thousand saplings have been grown on the banks of the Bagmati Clean-up.

'The trees seen on the banks of the river have been grown by us,' he said, 'The plants may have been planted by many, but we have grown them. Almost dead: Even though life has been given to the river, it is still not as expected.' The fact that this campaign has continued for so many years is a great achievement, said former Chief Secretary Paudyal.

According to him, so far, about 21 thousand metric tons of garbage has been removed from Bagmati shore. He informed that under the pressure of the cleaning campaign, sand theft has been completely stopped. In the

program, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Hit Bahadur Tamang said that the practice of littering among the common people has not ended. He said, 'As you have given your time in the cleaning campaign, this participation should continue. It is necessary for the relevant agencies of the state to make a practical plan for cleaning rhetoric.'

Minister Tamang promised to increase the awareness of citizens about the campaign and take necessary initiatives on behalf of the ministry. MP Sovita Gautam said that since the development of human civilization is from the river, it is necessary to pay attention to its protection. She said, 'For the proper management of waste, it is necessary to raise public awareness on the issues such as separation of perishable and non-perishable waste, and not throwing waste randomly. I will continue to raise my voice about the river and nature in my active life.'

Bagmati Safi Mahabhiyan started on 5th June 2070. This is the 575th week of the campaign started with the slogan 'Two hours of volunteering in the name of the nation'.
