Bureau spokesman and Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Prasad Phuyal informed that they were rescued from a situation where they were kept in a hotel in Gaushala in Kathmandu because the gang was going to send them abroad. Although the pretext was foreign employment, they were rescued after it was discovered that they were going to be taken to a third country for trafficking, he said.

In the initial investigation, it was found that they were trying to sell them abroad by showing greed for attractive salaries. The police are investigating two people for their involvement in the incident. Those gangs were found to have sold some women on the pretext of sending them abroad and they were rescued . Ganesh Bahadur Katuwal, who is involved in women trafficking, was arrested by the bureau from Tokha Municipality-5 in Kathmandu on March 2.

After he was found to be involved in the same incident during interrogation and investigation, 58-year-old Lakshmi Prasad is one of the absconding accused. Sitaula was arrested on Tuesday 20th of Chait from Kathmandu. The police team reached the hotel of Gaushala after getting the information that five more women were kept in the hotel to involve in the trafficking by showing the desire to send them abroad and while conducting further investigation.

'During the arrest of Sitaula, it was found that he was preparing to take five more women to work as domestic workers in Gulf countries via Dubai on a visit visa, and they were immediately rescued from the hotel,' said Superintendent of Police Fuyal. According to the bureau, the rescuers will get more information on Wednesday and further investigation of the incident will continue.
