The electricity produced by the 7.5 MW Upper Midimkhola hydropower project at Midimkhola in Bhujung, Khwalasothar Rural Municipality-4 of Lamjung has been connected to the national transmission line. The electricity produced by the project constructed by Bhujung Hydropower Company is connected to Nepal Electricity Authority's Vorletar substation.

The 26 km single circuit transmission line of 33 KV constructed by the promoter company itself has been transmitted from the switchyard of the project to Vorletar. The commercial production date (RCOD) of the power project has not been fixed.

After 'dry test', 'wet test' and 'circuit test', Pawan Bhatt, the project manager of the project, said that internal testing is being done by turning the turbine and generating electricity. "We are waiting for RCOD. Now the internal testing is being completed," he said. "After the testing is complete, we will ask for RCOD. Until then, the engineers of the authority will monitor and inspect. The internal equipment has been tested after starting electricity generation from February 16. "Every day the work is being done by producing and stopping electricity," he said. The project installed hydro and electromechanical equipment and conducted a 'dry test' from December 24 to 28. After the 'dry test', the structure was filled with water and the 'wet test' was done.

The promoter company brought water from Midimkhola through a 3.735 km long penstock pipe and dropped water from Talhu Siran to generate electricity from a power house built on the banks of Midimkhola. The project has projected that 42.25 gigawatt hours of electricity will be produced annually. The gross head of the project is 457 meters. Two horizontal Pelton turbines have been installed for power generation in the project.

The promoter started the construction work of the project from 077 after taking the production permit from the Electricity Development Department on August 26, 076. Initially, there was a schedule to complete the project within 2 years (within 078 years) and generate electricity, but the construction was affected due to the risk of corona infection, floods and landslides. Corona infection prolonged more than 1 year. Vinam Gyawali, public relations officer of the project said that the construction work was delayed due to landslides on the highway, landslides on rural roads and floods.

According to the latest schedule, the plan was to produce electricity by July 079. The road was swept away by the flood. We could not deliver the equipment to the project site on time. The construction of the project was affected," he said. Kumari Bank and Sangrila Development Bank have invested 75 percent of the loan in the Upper Midimkhola hydropower project, which has a total cost of Rs 1.44 billion. 25 percent equity (equity) has been raised by the promoter itself. The promoter said that due to the extended construction period of the project, the cost will increase. Infra will be entrusted with the operation of the

project. Midimkhola Hydropower, the promoter of

, has said that the Infra Pvt. After the completion of the construction of the project, although the project itself will take over the operation and maintenance, it has started a new system of contracting its responsibility to another company. According to Bhatta, the project manager of the project, there is an agreement that Z Infra will carry out operation and maintenance for 5 years after the generation of electricity from the

power project. Infra will do all the managerial work from recruitment of employees to power generation, maintenance etc. Although an agreement has been reached between the two parties, the financial burden has not been disclosed. The life of the project can be extended if the contracting company takes good care of it. The project had previously taken over the operation and maintenance of the 36 MW Upper Balefi 'A' hydropower project in Sindhupalchowk for 1 year.
