Complaints of the teachers' organization that the education sector is not prioritized in the budget

The Nepal National Teachers' Association has complained that the education sector has not been prioritized in the budget of the next financial year of the Government of Nepal.
The organization held a press conference in Lalitpur on Tuesday and complained about the allocation of 20 percent of the total budget in the education sector, but only 10.94 percent was allocated. In the press release issued by the organization's president Bishnu Prasad Bhandari and general secretary Hansha Bahadur Shahi, it is stated that there is no increase in service facilities for teachers, early childhood development teachers and staff, no increase in the amount of mid-day meals and the issue of teacher vacancy management is not included. The
organization has drawn attention to the fact that the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has issued a circular to control the political rights of teachers along with trade union rights regarding the involvement of teachers in political parties. The
organization has demanded that the guidelines on teacher transfer, 2081 issued on June 13th, should be made by issuing the School Education Act first. Also, the organization expressed its disagreement with the recently concluded convention of the Nepal Teachers' Federation and demanded to select the leadership according to the democratic system.
