In Nepalgunj of Banke, the civil society burnt the effigy of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane.
An effigy of Home Minister Lamichhane was burnt at Tribhuvan Chowk on Thursday protesting against the arrest of Kantipur Media Group Chairman Kailash Sirohia. The leading journalists of the civil society who participated in the protest demanded that the attack on the media be stopped, saying that this step is an interference on the freedom of the press.
President Sirohia was arrested by the police from the working room of the Kantipur central office in Thapathali on Tuesday. The arrest of President Sirohia on the basis of revenge is being protested everywhere.
