The study has shown that the field of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) needs to be comprehensively improved. A study conducted by Kathmandu University School of Education has shown this fact.

Government priority should be increased in expansion of TVET

In the research conducted by the university, it has been found that there is a lack of coordination between technical schools and employers in the construction sector, access of youth to skilled training and technical education and weak relationship with employment, and the local level has not prioritized the formal TVET sector.

This research was presented during a program in Pokhara on Saturday. In the program, Professor Maheshnath Parajuli of Kathmandu University said that the government could not work according to the meaning of the word TVET. He said that even though TVET is the main means of social and economic transformation, the government's priority in this area is low. Kalpana Lamsal, a member of the Gandaki Province Public Service Commission, said in the

program that Gandaki Province has paid attention to the production of middle-class skilled manpower. For this, he said, Gandaki Technical Education and Vocational Training Institute has prioritized feedback and evaluation. In the

program, Professor Navraj Devkota, Vice-Chancellor of Gandaki University opined that TVET sector is weak due to lack of management education. He argued that the TVET sector is weak due to the lack of training according to the demand of the labor market. The focus was on the discussion of the research done by the Lelam (Linking Education with Labor Market) project under Kathmandu University.
