Parikrama participants in Mithila Madhya have celebrated Holi by wearing colors Abir . Parikramavasi who reached Kanchanavan in Mahottari celebrated Holi by singing Holi folk song 'Hori' and giving each other Abir . The participants of the 15-day Mithila Mahatma Parikrama celebrated Holi according to the belief that Lord Rama played Holi in Kanchanavan during the Treta Yuga.

According to religious and mythological beliefs, after reaching Kanchanavan, the place where Lord Ram played Holi, the Parikrama's Tirthals celebrate Holi every year.

Visitors to Kanchanavan have been warmly welcomed by the locals. Although it is believed that Holi starts from Vasant Panchami, it officially starts after Holi in Kanchanavan in Mithilanchal . Starting from Janakpur, Parikrama reached Kanchanavan via Kalna, Girijasthan, Mahottari's Matihani, Jaleshwar, Madaiya, Dhruvakund in the middle of Mithila.

The 15-day religious journey will be completed by circumambulating Janakpur on the day of Phagu Purnima, which started from Janakpur with the dola of Kishoriji from Agni Kund in Janakpur, from Kachuri Mutt in Dhanusha to Mithila Bihari Kuti, Mithila Bihari and Janakpur. There is a tradition of celebrating Holi in Mithila only on the day after Antargriha Parikrama.

Bhangaha Municipality has been giving a public holiday every year to celebrate the Holi festival of Kanchanavan. Mayor Sanjiv Sah said that there were 300,000 pilgrims and local people in Bhangaha on Sunday. Famous music and art institutions of Mithila Kshetra have given their performances today in 'Holi Utsav' in Kanchanavan. Parikrama starts from Therakchuri in Dhanusha on the first day of February Aunshi and ends after reaching Janakpur on the full moon day of February. Devotees say that on the eighth day of this journey, Kanchanavan's rest is becoming special with the tradition of 'Holi Utsav'. .

There are 12 resting places in Nepal and three places in India during the religious journey. During the circumambulation in Mithila Madhya, the pilgrims have completed a total of 133 km long religious journey of 107 km in Nepal and 26 km in India.
