The police have arrested three people who were extorting money by putting the picture of Inspector General of Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar on WhatsApp. The group called a person from Rajviraj of Saptari on +923250169135 and asked for money saying 'your son is under our control'.
After threatening to kill his son if he did not send the money, he deposited 12 lakh 80 thousand rupees in different bank accounts. The amount collected was raised by the threatening group. The police involved in the investigation of this incident Three people were arrested on Sunday.
According to the Madhesh Pradesh Police Office, those arrested are Savin Mainali of Mechinagar-6 of Jhapa, Shubham Mainali of Ward No.-10 and Ashika Barailly of Dharan-3 of Sunsari. The police said that further investigation is underway on them. They were brought to the court and extended 7 days in the fraud case.
