Five minutes of wick making competition

She also participated in the Taplejung Tourism Festival after the Federation of Domestic and Small Industries organized a competition of this category. She carried the incense and the material used to wrap it, but she did not get to use her belongings . They had to compete with the goods given by the organizer.

Krishnamaya Karki of Fungling Municipality-4 went in the same way . Sunpati, Bhairungpati, she found the hand paper that hides it and made it easily at home according to her own preferences . Anjana Kadaria, the coordinator of the program, said that there will be only five minutes and during that time, the one who makes the best and most will be the first, she looked at the contestants.

There was fear in my heart and courage to win. After announcing the names of the three jury members and blowing the whistle, the announcer asked Kadaria to be careful and compete in the competition.

In a period of five minutes, Sukmaya spins 10 wicks . During the completion of 11 Balkumari Neupane of the jury threw out the incomplete wick after informing her that it would not be included in the competition.

However, she came first in the competition and won 5,000 in cash. Krishnamaya made 8 and became second and passed 3000 hands. In the competition where 17 women participated, the first runner-up made 10 while the last runner-up made two .

While the tourism festival was going on in the capital Fungling, one of the categories held by the federation was the incense wick making competition. now Co-ordinator Kadaria says that the competition has been organized to encourage this because it has a good market and one can become an entrepreneur at home.

The entrepreneur understands that the pilgrims who come for Pathibhara darshan around three lakhs annually will use it. It is kept in the ground . Sunpati, Bhairungpati, incense and camphor powder are mixed and placed in front of it.

After putting dust on that paper, it is wrapped so as not to fall. After wrapping it is called Vati . This kind of wood, which is widely used in houses and temples, has a strong smell. Traders say that its market price is two rupees per piece.

'The time for the competition must have been kept well . But it only takes two minutes,' said Radhika Khawas, who was third after seven attempts, 'If she had kept it for 10 minutes, it would have been a good competition even after cutting the time.' Now Khawas plans to become regular at home and sell.
