As the tourist season continues, the Ghunsa area, the base camp of Kanchenjunga Himal, has been without communication for two weeks.
Since the tower of Nepal Telecom here has been damaged, the locals have not been able to use the communication, while the tourists who have come to visit have also been left without communication.
'First the local electricity broke down, then the telecom tower also broke down,' said local Dandu Sherpa, 'I don't even know when it will be built.' Shivkumar Singh, head of Nepal Telecom Taplejung, said that the modem there was damaged and was sent from Kathmandu. 'The goods are arriving, there is a condition where the technician can join, it will be done soon,' Singh said.
