In the local level performance evaluation conducted by the National Natural Resources and Finance Commission under the federal government, Maiwakhola of Taplejung has become the best rural village in Koshi province.
Among the 137 local levels of the province, Maiwakhola was the best among 753 local levels across the country. It has become 17th and 12th in 460 rural villages.
According to the provincial and local level performance evaluation procedure 2078, the Commission evaluates on the basis of 17 indicators. In this, the time period of submitting and passing the budget, the time period of the projection of income and expenditure and submitting it to the Ministry of Finance, the time period and condition of spending the budgeted amount, the use of formulas, and the condition of periodical planning are analyzed.
In terms of education, the student enrollment rate, the sustainability situation, the obtained GPA, the health status of pregnant women and children are being analyzed.
Maiwakhola's president is Vijay Prakash Vanem of Maoist and vice president is Kamal Kumari Limvu of Congress. UML had a clean sweep here in the previous election.
