Speaker Devaraj Ghimire has said that it is the need of the day to focus the Parliament on the country and the people while correcting the shortcomings in the parliamentary process.
In his greeting message issued today on the occasion of Parliament Day, Speaker Ghimire said that the weaknesses seen in Parliament and the parliamentary process can be improved by improving the law-making process and the activity of the people's representatives.
Speaker Ghimire said in his message that it is everyone's responsibility to strengthen the country's parliamentary system based on the principles and norms specified by the constitution. He is of the opinion that everyone's contribution is equally important to raise people's faith and trust towards the Parliament.
The parliamentary history of the country is not new compared to other countries.
Expressing his belief that Parliament Day will promote parliamentary democracy and provide inspiration to make Parliament lively and people-oriented, Speaker Ghimire has congratulated all Nepali sisters and brothers on this occasion.
