59.87 billion budget to the Ministry of Defense

The government has allocated 59.87 billion rupees for the Ministry of Defense in the budget of the financial year 2081/82. While submitting the budget for the next financial year, Finance Minister Varshman Pun said that the national security policy will be implemented effectively.
The government has not made public the national security policy so far. Minister Pun said that the Nepali Army will be made efficient, technological and professional. He said that one billion rupees has been allocated for the Nepali Army's program from bunkers to barracks. He mentioned that the national service team program will be extended to the local level.
