The team involved in the Safa Himal Campaign-2024 reached Syangboche on Sunday. According to the Nepali Army, the team went to clean up Mount Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse.
The team consists of 13 people including 12 soldiers and 1 Sherpa chief. The team reached the Syangboche area through Nepalese army aircraft. To make the
campaign effective, the army plans to reach the Everest base camp by walking for about 7 days while interacting with the local communities. "During the march, cleaning of the footpath will also be done to increase awareness and promote the campaign," said the statement of the army.
The goal of the team is to collect about 10 tons of garbage and 5 human corpses from different camps of Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse mountains.
