The government has accepted a grant of 4.6 million US dollars (equivalent to approximately 613.5 million) from the World Bank for a project to institutionalize responses to gender-based violence in Nepal. Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma informed that the cabinet meeting on Friday decided to accept the grant aid given by the World Bank.

The meeting has formed a negotiation team under the coordination of Secretary, Commerce and Supply of Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply for the seventh meeting of Nepal-Bangladesh Commerce Secretary level. To determine the compensation of private land and structures under the jurisdiction of the Hetauda-Pramanipur-Pokharia 132 KV transmission line project, the Chief District Officer of the respective district has been appointed as the chairman and the CDI of the Power Development Department as the member. The government has extended the deadline of one month for the inquiry commission formed to submit a report along with opinions to resolve disputes related to electricity tariffs of customers consuming electricity from dedicated feed trunk lines.

The meeting has decided to recognize the orange as the national fruit of Nepal. Similarly, it has been decided to provide pre-approval for ONM to conduct organization and management survey of Ministry of Home Affairs and agencies under it.

Communication Minister Sharma informed that it has been decided to give in-principle approval to formulate the bill related to National Service Corps and to approve the Additional Postal Fifth Amendment Regulations, 2080.

Similarly, the meeting has decided to approve the submission of the bill to amend and unify the law related to Nepal Media Council in the Federal Parliament.
