The play 'Marriage Proposal' written by Russian playwright Anton Chekhov and translated into Nepali by colorist Che Shankar is being staged at Kunj Theater in Thapagaon, Kathmandu.

Sangeet Sapkota and Ashish Ghimire jointly directed this play from May 10 It is said that it will be staged until 27. The drama written in the comedy genre can be seen acting by 4 main actors. Vijaya Karki, Dores Khatiwada, Chandra Nepali and Sundar Dhital are the actors seen in the play.

Director Sangeet Sapkota said that when the play written by Chekhov in 1820 was translated into Nepali, its characters and plot were fictionalized. Produced by Kalasi Productions in collaboration with Karman Kala, this play was previously staged at Mandala Theater in 2018.

This play was also presented at the Kumbh Festival in Allahabad, India in 2019. The play was also staged at the Bangabandhu Theater Festival in Rajshahi, Bangladesh.
