Budget implementation is challenging: Nepal Chamber

The Chamber responded that the implementation of the budget of 18 trillion 60 billion 30 million rupees brought by the government for the financial year 2081/82 is challenging. According to the chamber, the government's goal of making the economy run after coming out of the economic recession is challenging. But declaring the next financial year as the year of economic reform, it is mentioned in the statement issued by the chamber that the issues of making a commission for the second phase of economic reform are positive.

The target of revenue collection of 12 trillion 60 billion 30 million rupees seems challenging in the current economic situation. It seems that the goal of raising domestic debt of almost 30 percent of the total budget will lead to a lack of liquidity in the market and will have a negative impact on the economy in the long run,'' said the statement of the Chamber.

The Chamber has said that the focus of the budget on agriculture, tourism, energy, information technology and manufacturing sectors is positive. Considering the next financial year as the departure year of the information technology decade, the chamber has also mentioned that the goals are positive, from general programs of fellowships and internships to the creation of state-of-the-art IT facilities.

Similarly, the chamber has said positively that the period from 2081 to 2091 will be declared as the Agricultural Investment Decade to increase production and productivity by commercializing and modernizing agriculture, increasing investment in agriculture from government, private, cooperative and development partners.
