Nepal's veteran runners Buddhaveer Lama and Dharma Maharjan have won gold medals in the international open veteran athletics competition.

Buddhavir won gold in the over 65-year-old 5,000-meter race on Thursday in the competition being held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He, who is also a songwriter, completed the prescribed distance in 22 minutes and 03 seconds. Over 50 years of the same distance, Dharma won gold by completing the race in 17 minutes and 8 seconds. Nepal's Revat Dahal came second in the religion category. He covered the distance in 17 minutes and 50 seconds.

Nepal also won 1 more bronze. Deepak Kumar Ranjith won bronze in the 5000 meter race over 55 years of age. He covered the prescribed distance in 20 minutes and 19 seconds. 6 players from Nepal are participating in the

competition. Pushpalal Shrestha will compete in the 10,000 meters race over 65 years and Lakpa Sherpa Lama in the 10,000 meters race over 40 years. The race will be held on Saturday, according to the leader of the team, Buddhaveer. Dharma will also compete in the 10,000 meter race on Saturday.
