Under the organization of Wagmati Province Sports Development Council, inter-provincial level national sports competition is starting from next Chait 2. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will inaugurate the tournament at the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium in Bharatpur, Chitwan.

Suryalal Bhandari, Member Secretary of Wagmati Province Sports Development Council said that the preparation of the competition has reached its final stage. For the competition, the province has announced the schedule for the selection of players on February 24th and 25th. The state sports council has informed that players will be selected in 9 categories for the

competition. The competition includes volleyball, football, cricket, karate, athletics, badminton and swimming.

The province has already selected the players for boxing. In the competition, all the 7 provinces will participate in the competition by choosing their players. Bhandari, the member secretary of the council, said that the competition is going to be organized to promote the sport and the identity of the players within the province.

He argued that Wagmati got the opportunity to organize the first edition of the competition because Wagmati province has been taking initiatives to organize the competition. Inter-province sports competition will be held by all the provinces in turn. The Wagmati state government has allocated a budget of Rs 6 crore for the competition. It is estimated that 10 crore rupees will be spent for the

competition. It is estimated that around 50,000 players, officials, judges and sports committee will participate in the competition.

The Council has informed that the opening program of the competition has been held in Chitwan to spread the interest of everyone for the Gautam Buddha International Stadium, which is a major investment of the Wagmati State Government.

In Chitwan, there is a program to start the tournament by starting the cricket match. Chief Ministers of all the seven provinces will be present at the inauguration program. The tournament will conclude on 8th Chait at Pipley Stadium located in Hetouda-5. As part of the competition, both women's and men's games will be held at Hetauda.

The women's match will be held at Gouritar Stadium and the men's football match will be held at Pipley-Campa Stadium. Member-Secretary Bhandari informed that the competition will also be concluded with the conclusion of the football final. As part of the competition, volleyball, cricket, taekwondo, karate, athletics, badminton and swimming games will be organized in Chitwan for both men and women.
