The Chief Minister of the Far West, Galigh Bahadur Sodari, is taking the vote of confidence in the state assembly meeting to be held at 10:30 this morning. UML has already decided to give vote of confidence to Sodari. Earlier, Sodari's two attempts to get a vote of confidence were rejected due to UML's reluctance.

Sodari was appointed as Chief Minister with the support of UML, Maoist Center, Civil Liberation Party (Ranjita Shrestha) and two Provincial Assembly members and independent MP Tara Joshi.

In the 53-member Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly, there are 18 MPs from the Congress, 10 from the Maoist Center, 11 from the UML, seven from the Civil Liberties Party, four from the United Socialist Party, one from the RPP and one independent.

According to Article 168 (2) of the Constitution, Sodari was appointed as the Chief Minister on 6th Baisakh. There is a provision that a vote of confidence should be taken within 30 days of the appointment of the Chief Minister.
