CPN-UML failed to reach an agreement for five days in Kailali's district convention, and finally voting took place on the sixth day on Friday.

The representatives raised slogans and protested on Thursday, saying that the session was held in indecision for a long time. Voting started on Friday noon and is still going on. Durga Prasad Joshi, Daisy Pandey and Yagya Dhungana are candidates for the post of President along with the panel. Bishnu Kumar Chand, Dan Bahadur Vishwakarma and Mamta Prasad Chaudhary have been nominated for the post of secretary. Candidates for the post of secretary are Chand Dhungana panel, Vishwakarma Joshi panel and Chaudhary Pandey panel secretary candidates.

There are 6 candidates for the post of vice president. Gajendra Swar, Dal Bahadur Bista, Madan Ojha, Birendra Bahadur Rawal, Bishnu Bahadur Chaudhary, Lokendra Shahi are there. Raju Gurung, Chudamani Bhatt, Nrip Thyat Khadka, Chakra Bahadur Bista, Bhuwan Rizal are candidates for Deputy Secretary. Ratna Kunwar Joshi, Ambika Bista Malla, Gangakumari Choudhary and Shantidevi Singh have become candidates for women's deputy secretary.

There are 591 representatives from 13 local levels in Kailali to elect a 152-member district committee.
