Banke police has arrested the accused of murdering a young woman who has been on the run for 15 months and released it to the public. On May 29 of last year, 22-year-old Sumdarani Tharu of Nepalganj was strangled.
The police have arrested 26-year-old Shailendra Chaudhary of Rajapur Municipality-8 of Bardia on the charge of being involved in his murder. Chaudhry was arrested from the Nepal-India border area of Janki-1 Pachpokhara in Banke, according to the police.
Police team under the command of Police Inspector Sujan Shah from District Police Office Banke arrested Shailendra from the Nepal-India border area at Janki-1 Pachpokhara, Banke Police Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Narayan Dangi said.
Choudhary, who was arrested, has been given a 5-day extension from the Banke District Court, and the process of further investigation and action has been taken forward, the police said.
