Pokhara High Court has ordered to re-count the votes in Byas Municipality of Tanahun. On Tuesday, the court held the final hearing on the petition filed by Deepakraj Joshi, the candidate for the head of Beas municipality, and decided that the petitioner's claim would be accepted.

High Court Information Officer Vishwanath Aryal informed that the joint bench of High Court Judges Rajan Prasad Bhattarai and Nirmala Poudel Bhattarai has given a verdict in favor of the writ petitioner Joshi.

Joshi filed a writ against five people, including the Election Commission, on June 12, 2079, alleging that the counting of votes was rigged. In favor of Joshi Five advocates argued.

In the local elections, Vaikunth Neupane, the head of Beyas municipality, won by getting 12 thousand 78 votes. The competing candidate Joshi got 11,826 votes.
