Chairman of CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli has said that any attempt to return the monarchy to the country is unlikely to succeed. President Oli made this claim while speaking at the party's convention representative council meeting at Godavari in Lalitpur on Saturday.
He also asked them to carry the feudal belief of innate superiority even in today's democratic era and to be sure that the deposed monarchy will not be restored by the people due to their own incompetence, failure and deeds.
President Oli also insisted that the democratic republic alternative could not be the restoration of the autocratic feudal system. He said that the UML should play an effective role in advancing the national aspirations of prosperous Nepal and happy Nepali by trying for stability by blocking the positive forces even in the midst of adverse political balance.
'Even in today's democratic era, there is no possibility of carrying the feudal belief of innate superiority and trying to bring back the deposed monarchy from the people due to their own incompetence, failure and deeds. We are sure of this,' he said, 'this cycle of history is not going to go back. Problems may be seen in the operation of the democratic republic system. There may be a delay in building a just, egalitarian, democratic and prosperous society envisioned by the constitution. But the alternative to this problem cannot be the restoration of the autocratic feudal system.'
